Bhubaneswar to get New DCP in New Year-2022 following Umashankar Dash’s Promotion to DIG Rank

BHUBANESWAR: With 2008 batch IPS officer, Dr Umashankar Dash on Wednesday promoted to DIG rank, the post of City Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), will see a new face in year 2022 with a new DGP SK Bansal at the police headquarters in Cuttack replacing incumbent Abhay, superannuating office on December 31. Dr Dash’s predecessor Anup Sahoo, soon after promotion to DIG rank, had shifted as DCP of the Capital City.

Reshuffle among IPS officers is nearing after new DGP Assumes charge in New Year. Promotions to IGP rank of 2004 officers may not warrant transfers as Deepak Kumar and Satyabrata Bhoi can be made range IGPs. But the promotion of Bhubaneswar DCP Dr Dash , to DIG rank will lead to the posting of new DCP in the Capital city.

The Odisha Government on Wednesday promoted 4 IPS officers of 2004 batch to IGP Rank. They were Deepak Kumar, Ashis Singh and Satyabrata Bhoi. A notification issued by State’s GA and Public Grievances Department, while 3 IPS officers of 2008 batch including Dr Umashankar Dash , Prakash R and Dr Satyajit Naik promoted to DIG rank.

2009 batch IPS officers including Akhilesvar Singh, Brijesh Rai and CS Meena got promotion to selection grade. 2013 batch IPS officers including Anupama James, Rahul PR, PS Parshottamdas, Jagmohan Meena, Mukesh Kumar Bhamoo and L Divya V promoted to Junior Administrative Grade.
