BHUBANESWAR:Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati has urged matriculation toppers to maintain values, compassion and integrity to achieve success in life. He also said that real success lies not only in academic excellence but also in service to society and humanity. The Governor said this at a special felicitation programme organized for the toppers of the annual High School Certificate Examination-2026 conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), CBSE and ICSE and their parents at the New Abhishek Hall of Lok Bhawan on Friday. The state’s first lady Hon’ble Dr. Jayashree Kambhampati was also present on the occasion.

Addressing the talented students on the occasion, the Governor said that the world outside the classroom is full of opportunities, responsibilities and challenges, which test a person’s character. Life will not only measure you by the marks you get, but also by the values ​​you uphold, the compassion you show and the positive difference you make in the lives of others, the Governor explained.
Congratulating the achievers, the Governor said that their success reflects dedication, discipline, fortitude and courage. Their achievements have made the state proud and have inspired countless other students, the Governor said.
The Governor also said that academic success is just the beginning of a long journey and advised the students to remain strong and committed to the welfare of the society and the country. Education is meaningful only when it transforms an individual into a responsible citizen and a good human being.
The Governor said that the country needs not only talented professionals but also honest, compassionate and service-minded citizens. The Governor advised the students present to carry honesty, humility and kindness wherever life takes them.
Highlighting the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP)-2020 in Odisha, the Governor said that the policy aims to foster creativity, ethics, leadership and life skills among students, as well as promote holistic and multifaceted education.
The Governor also appreciated the role of parents, teachers and mentors in shaping the future of students through guidance, sacrifice and encouragement. The Governor urged the students to be a source of inspiration for others and contribute towards building a just, inclusive and compassionate society.
Students, parents and teachers also shared their experiences on the occasion. At the beginning, the welcome address was delivered by the Governor’s Commissioner-cum-Secretary to the Government, Dr. Rupa Roshan Sahu.Cultural programs were also presented on this occasion.
