BERHAMPUR:Gopalpur PS Rescued 15-Year-Old Minor Girl and Arrests Accused in Kidnapping & POCSO Case*

Gopalpur P.S. Case No. 232 Dt. 18.08.2024, U/s- 137(2) BNS which subsequently turned to U/s- 137(2)/64(2)(m)/65(1) BNS R/w Sec. 6 POCSO Act.
*Accused Arrested:*
Kanha Das (25), S/o Rabi Das @ Bidyadhar Das, Village- Kukudakhandi, PS- Brahmapur Sadar, Dist- Ganjam.
*Victim Rescued:*
A 15-year-old minor girl (Name withheld as per law).
*Seizure Made:*
Wearing apparels of both the victim and the accused.
*Brief Facts:*
On 18.08.2024, on the report of the complainant of village Antarabhatia, PS- Gopalpur, the above case was registered. During investigation, the School Admission Register was verified and DOB of the victim found to be 16.07.2009. The minor girl was rescued on 02.11.2026 at about 02.00 AM from the house of the accused at village Kukudakhandi. On 17.08.2024, the victim left home with the accused and went to Andari, Mumbai where she was sexually assaulted.
*Action Taken:*
On 02.11.2026 at 11.30 AM, accused Kanha Das was arrested observing all formalities and forwarded to Hon’ble Court of JMFC (R), Brahmapur.
