BHUBANESWAR:Fortysix international students belonging to different disciplines at the SOA Deemed to be University here received their degrees at a special graduation ceremony held for them in the campus on Tuesday.
The students, belonging to 15 different countries, had been pursuing various courses including B.Tech, M.Tech, B.Pharm, B.Sc (Agriculture), BBA, Master in Hospital Administration and B.Sc. (Optometry).
Prof. Maurice Kamga, Judge of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, Hamburg, attended the ceremony as the chief guest with his wife Ms. Jeanne Kamga who works with the International Court of Justice, The Hague. Prof. Kamga, who hails from Cameroon, expressed his immense satisfaction over the academic success of the foreign students including those from his country.
Prof. Kamga also pointed out that the Hanseatic Institute of Technology and Applied Sciences at Douala in Cameroon had signed a MoU with SOA for collaboration in higher education and research.
SOA Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda presented the degrees to the students while wishing them a bright future. “SOA Deemed to be University provided you a platform for your education as also your holistic development,” Prof. Nanda told the students while pointing out that they were graduating from the 15th best university in India as per the National Institutional Ranking Framework ranking of 2026.
The students, he said, should be proud of their alma mater and serve the university as its brand ambassadors when they go back to their respective countries.
Prof. Anup Kumar Samantaray, Prof. Prashanta Kumar Patra and Prof. (Dr.) Neeta Mohanty, all Pro-Vice Chancellors, Prof. Manjula Das, Controller of Examination, Deans and Additional Deans of different institutions, among others, were present. Prof. Nachieketa K. Sharma, Director, University Outreach Program and International Relations, read out the list of graduating students while Prof. Jyoti Ranjan Das, Dean (Students Welfare) conducted the program.
