Dharmendra Pradhan Reviews Key Development Projects at Debagada DISHA Meeting

BHUBANESWAR:Sambalpur MP Shri Dharmendra Pradhan reviewed the progress and infrastructure development of the district by attending the meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (‘Disha’) organized by the Debagada District Administration. The meeting discussed in detail the successful implementation of various welfare schemes of the Central and State Governments and the provision of basic amenities to every citizen of the district.

Shri Pradhan said that special attention will be given to the health and nutrition of about 75,000 children and adolescents from newborn to 18 years of age in the district. A massive ‘Jan Abhiyan’ will be launched in the district to provide them with proper nutritious food. Similarly, emphasis has been given to ‘District Hydrology Mapping’ and various irrigation projects to improve agriculture and increase the amount of irrigated land.

In order to bring about a major improvement in the connectivity of the district, the NHAI of the Government of India will make the road from Kanakatara to Rengali into four lanes. In addition, the NHAI has been entrusted with the responsibility of constructing overbridges and vehicle underpasses for accident-free movement at Birsa Munda, Ambedkar and Circuit House streets in Deogarh city.

Similarly, in the field of digital connectivity, 15 new towers will be installed along with 101 existing towers of BSNL and new towers will be installed after conducting a survey for the areas where there is no network. Apart from this, the meeting has decided on electrification, road safety and construction of service lane from Tilaibani to Barakot. Local MLAs, public representatives and administrative officers attended the meeting and gave their positive feedback.
