BHUBANESWAR:Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi has announced an initial assistance package of Rs. 110 crore for the flood affected people.
All necessary financial assistance will be provided after the final assessment of the damage. Assistance for the repair of roads, bridges and other damaged infrastructure will be provided after the final assessment.
According to this decision, Rs 1.2 million will be provided from the Disaster Relief Fund for the repair of completely damaged houses, Rs 6,500 for partially damaged pucca houses, Rs 4,000 for partially damaged kutcha houses, Rs 8,000 for demolished huts and Rs 3,000 for shacks.
Small and marginal farmers will be provided with assistance of Rs. 8,500 per hectare for non-irrigated areas, Rs. 17,000 for irrigated areas, and Rs. 22,500 per hectare for perennial crops for crop or garden damage.
Ex-gratia assistance of Rs 24 lakh will be provided to the next of kin of the six deceased in the flood-related deaths under the Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF) rules.
Assistance will also be provided for deceased livestock. The initial estimate is Rs. 37,500 per milch animal like buffalo, cow, Rs. 4,000 per goat or sheep, Rs. 32,000 per pack animal like bull, buffalo, horse, Rs. 20,000 per calf, donkey and mule.
The state government has clarified that the administration is working tirelessly to provide immediate relief and all necessary assistance to every flood-affected family. Senior officials are reviewing the situation round the clock and relief, rescue and rehabilitation operations will continue till normalcy returns.
