BHUBANESWAR:Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi reviewed the possible heavy rainfall due to the deep depression formed in the Bay of Bengal and its countermeasures in a high-level meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan. The Chief Minister has directed all the concerned departments and the district administration to maintain the highest level of alertness and give utmost importance to the safety of the people’s livelihood.
33 ODRAF teams, along with NDRF and fire brigades, have been kept fully prepared in the affected districts, and another 9 teams are in reserve in Chhatrapur.
District and block level control rooms 24×7 have been made operational.
Sensitive areas have been identified, shelters have been prepared, and sufficient supplies of dry food, baby food, medicine, and drinking water have been kept on hand.
Due to the rough sea, danger signal number 3 has been issued at all ports and fishermen are completely prohibited from venturing into the sea.
Water levels in rivers and major reservoirs have been continuously monitored and de-watering pumps have been deployed to address waterlogging conditions in urban areas.
While a red warning has been issued for Raigarh, Koraput, Gajapati and Ganjam districts, the administration is closely monitoring the situation. All citizens are requested to remain alert and follow the information and instructions of the administration.
