BHUBANESWAR:The vision of the eminent Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is to make India a healthy and prosperous nation by freeing it from malnutrition. Prime Minister Modi has repeatedly called for making the Poshan Abhiyan a nationwide movement, not just a government program. The problem of malnutrition can be solved only if every person in the society joins this campaign.
The main objective of this campaign is to eliminate the health and malnutrition of children, pregnant women, lactating mothers and adolescent girls. He stressed on maintaining good coordination among various government departments and directly monitoring the health status of beneficiaries through modern technology like the ‘Poshan Tracker’ app. To further expand this, the government has launched Sahayak Anganwadi 2.0, through which quality nutritious food and health services are being provided to crores of children and mothers in the country. According to the National Family Health Survey (NFHS) report, stunting has reduced by 4% in India. India is now moving from an undernourished to a nutritious India.
This approach of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is helping to lay the foundation of a developed India by strengthening the physical and mental health of the country’s future generations. Anganwadis are playing a major and important role in making this campaign a success. The Anganwadi system is not just a government scheme, but the Prime Minister’s main goal is to turn it into a mass movement under the motto “Our Anganwadi, Our Responsibility” (Our Anganwadi, Our Responsibility). We are all aware of the way Anganwadi workers risked their lives and provided services from house to house during the global crisis Corona pandemic, and for this reason the Prime Minister praised them as ‘frontline warriors’.
Even Prime Minister Modi considers Anganwadi workers not only as employees but also as the backbone of the health and mental development of India’s future generations. Therefore, he has also said that strengthening the Anganwadi system is the priority of the government in building a developed India. Modiji’s birthday, which started on September 17 and will continue till October 17, has decided to organize various social programs under the month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. One of them is the Angan Milan Seva program. The Angan Milan Seva program will be organized from September 25 to October 7.
On this occasion, discussions will be held with the Anganwadi sisters who are working and playing an important role in eliminating the health and malnutrition of children, pregnant women, postpartum mothers and adolescent girls, and they will be promoted and encouraged. In addition, nutritious food and fruits will be distributed to small children by going to various Anganwadi centers.
Together, we can take India from malnutrition to well-nourished. Everyone needs to be involved in this. Dr. Biswal has called upon all of us to join this campaign and go to our nearest Anganwadi center, honor the Anganwadi sisters, meet the children and mothers present there, discuss the importance of the Poshan Abhiyan, and work with the government to accelerate this program to build a healthy India.
