BHUBANESWAR:  Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has joined the celebrations of the 77th State-level Van Mahotsav organized at Kapileshwar.

CM Majhi said Odisha has created a new identity as a leading state in the country in the field of tree plantation, afforestation and forest conservation. The continuous efforts of the people’s government towards creating a green Odisha are further strengthening environmental protection. This campaign will continue continuously in the future towards maintaining the balance of the environment.

Large-scale tree plantation is the only long-term solution to combat global climate change and severe heat waves. Development and environment are not opposites, but complementary. With this visionary approach, Odisha has today established itself as a leading state in the country in forest protection and green cover.

In the last two years, the forest and tree cover in the state has increased by 558 sq km, due to which Odisha has today secured a proud third position in the entire India, said the Hon’ble Chief Minister.
