PURI/BHUBANESWAR:Today, on the 33rd day of the chariot construction, the chariot builders arrived at the chariot yard at 8:00 am and began the construction work under the guidance of the chief Maharana.
The construction of the remaining 18 Akhars of the three Raths has been completed today. With the addition of one Nahaka Akha, which was completed for the Chak-Akha Dera policy on Bhaunari Tithi, the construction of a total of 21 Akhars of the three Raths has been completed till today.
The construction of 14 ‘Chaud Nahaka’ khambhi of 20 feet each is in progress. For the construction of the 14 ‘Chaud Nahaka’, Rath Amin, with the help of Bhoi Sevak, provided 11 20 feet each of Dhaura wood in two phases. Out of these, till today, 8 of the Taladhwaj Rath, 9 of the Darpadalan Rath and 11 of the Nandi Ghosh Rath have been completed after the 8-corner part of the khambhi has been completed. The khambhi work of the remaining Nahakas is in progress.

The sculptors have finished carving the form on the three chariots’ salgujas and have continued carving the form of a lion and a giant on the eight sharp gujas of the three chariots.
*Blacksmith’s axe*
In the temporary blacksmith shop of the altar, the Ojha servants have continued to prepare the axes, the bars, and the pegs for the three chariots, as well as the outer side of the altar throne, in preparation for the planks.
*Pahi Maharana*
At Dolavedi, the Maharana monks have continued to make wooden utensils for worship during the processions and chariot processions.
