CUTTACK/BHUBANESWAR:Due to the hard and tireless work of the workers, BJP has formed a government in the state. BJP believes in work, respects the value of promises. We are fulfilling all the promises we made in the last general elections. The people of Odisha have reposed faith in us, that is why there is a need to increase the burden of leadership among us. We will prepare work and field for the next generation by maintaining restraint in our behavior and speech. State President Shri Manmohan Samal has called upon us to strengthen the organization and work for the development of local leadership at the grassroots level.
This important expanded state executive meeting was inaugurated by National General Secretary Shri Sunil Bansal. On this occasion, Shri Bansal said that after many years of struggle, BJP formed the government in the state. Before the formation of the government, the workers were struggling, now the responsibility of the workers has increased. Strengthening the party organization in every assembly, mandal, booth of the state where the organization is weak is a big challenge for all of us. In terms of work expansion, to include people from all sections of the society in the party. In terms of organization, to build the state of Odisha as the number one state in India.
For a strong organization, starting from the booth at the grassroots level, to activate and enable the organization in every assembly and district. Similarly, to solve the public problems, the elected public representatives should strengthen public relations and gain the trust of the people. It is the government’s job to prepare new schemes, but it is the responsibility of the workers to publicize and disseminate them widely.
The welfare schemes of the Central and State Governments should be widely publicized and disseminated. Keeping the aspirations of the new generation in perspective, we should change all of us. In the digital age, using social media, we should give a strong answer with facts and truth to the false propaganda being spread by the opposition. We should work to strengthen the organization with utmost dedication and commitment. Our goal is to achieve success in the Panchayat, Nagar Palika and Cooperative elections to be held in the state in the coming days, said National General Secretary Shri Sunil Bansal.
An important state executive meeting was held before the executive meeting. The party flag was hoisted on the first day of the two-day extended executive meeting that began in the silver city of Cuttack. After this, the lamp was lit and the full bande matram was sung. The executive meeting, chaired by State President Manmohan Samal, was attended by Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy Chief Minister KV Singhdeo, Parvathi Parida, Regional In-charge Sunil Bansal, State In-charge Vijayapal Singh Tomar and Co-in-charge Lata Usendi, State Secretary (Organization) Manas Kumar Mohanty, along with MPs and MLAs, state officers, state executive members.
After the inauguration ceremony, a condolence motion was moved and passed. Today, India is moving forward on the path of development due to the wise leadership and visionary work of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The Union Government’s many flagship programs and milestone schemes to build a developed India by 2047 are taking the country forward on the path of development. India’s economic growth rate is now 7.8%, which is the highest among the world’s largest economies. Today’s meeting thanked the Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union Government for this remarkable growth rate and leading the country on the path of building a developed India.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 12-year development journey, making the country free from Naxals, taking a historic decision to sing the full Vande Mataram, the cooperation of the Central and State Governments in the Har Ghar Triranga campaign, creating a new craze of patriotism across the country, more than 25 crore people have been lifted out of poverty in 12 years, more than 4 crore poor families have got pucca houses, more than 60 crore beneficiaries will join the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, creating more than 3 crore women lakhpatis, ensuring dignity and cleanliness for poor families, setting a record in defense exports, making the Indian railway system world-class with the Vande Bharat train and Amrit Bharat station, increasing the country’s infrastructure construction expenditure by 6 times to Rs. 12 lakh crore annually, and making India the world’s No. 1 country in the field of digital payments and building the most developed India. Similarly, after the historic election victory in 2024, the first Bharatiya Janata Party government of Odisha under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi has launched development and welfare schemes in the state.
The BJP government of Odisha has taken a resolution to build a prosperous Odisha by 2036, when 100 years of the creation of a separate Odisha will be completed. Today’s executive committee thanked the Odisha government for this resolution and announced that it will fully cooperate with the government in building a developed Odisha. Similarly, providing Rs. 3100 per quintal of paddy to farmers and providing government assistance, providing Rs. 4000 per year under the CM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, 100 model mandis for farmers, starting work to restart the Baramba Cooperative Sugar Industry and Nayagarh Cooperative Sugar Industry, which have been closed for more than 20 years, and purchasing 92.64 lakh metric tons of paddy, setting a new record for the highest paddy procurement and farmer participation in the history of the state. Under the ‘Subhadra Yojana’, financial assistance of Rs 10,000 per year is being provided to empower more than 1 crore women, and under the Chief Minister’s Kanya Bhavya Yojana, more than 1,300 couples are being assisted through dignified mass marriages.
Under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana – Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana, 3.46 crore beneficiaries from 1.03 crore families in the state are getting benefits. Under the Ayushman Vayo Vandana Yojana, 22.41 lakh people above the age of 70 have joined. Important programs like Atal Raktdan Abhiyan are being started in the state to meet the shortage of blood during emergency treatment. Seven new nursing colleges will be established in Puri, Jajpur, Balasore, Balangir, Mayurbhanj, Koraput and Angul and one new nursing college will be established in Keonjhar from state funds. The state government has implemented the National New Education Policy in the state. The state government has launched a historic scheme by waiving tuition fees for all categories of students from KG to PG. It has been announced to set up 4 new universities in Odisha. 18 new government colleges have been opened in blocks where there are no colleges in the peripheral districts of Odisha. The process has been started to strengthen 2200 selected schools across the state at a cost of Rs. 12,000 crore under the Godavarish Mishra Adarsh Pratama Vidyalaya Yojana. The annual student fee for Scheduled Tribe and Caste students has been increased from Rs. 10,500 to Rs. 16,000 and for female students from Rs. 11,000 to Rs. 17,000. In the field of water resources, the state government has given top priority to the permanent solution of the Mahanadi water dispute and has created 1.82 lakh hectares of irrigation potential through 27,325 hill irrigation projects. Budget has been made for the implementation of river water conservation projects in Mahanadi and other major rivers in Odisha. Similarly, in the last 2 years, 14.84 crore saplings have been planted in the Ek Peed Ma’ Ke Naam campaign, more than the target. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India, has constructed 5399 km of National Railways at a cost of Rs 43095 crore. Work has started on 9 major National Highway projects such as Sambalpur Town Ring Road, Capital Region Ring Road, Rameswaram-Puri-Paradeep Coastal Highway. Similarly, in the field of commercial transport, a memorandum of understanding has been signed between the Odisha Maritime Board and Paradeep Port Authority for the development of a mega shipbuilding cluster in Kendrapara with an investment of Rs 22,700 crore and a cruise terminal in Puri.
The government has taken steps for the development of all bus stands in the state under the Atal Bus Stand Scheme and has so far decided to construct a total of 318 Atal Bus Stands in the state and out of these, 80 bus stands have been made operational. In the field of housing and urban development, 24-hour ‘drink-from-tap’ facilities are operational in 11 cities, piped water supply has been successful in 114 cities. The number of buses in the CRUT/AM bus fleet has reached 760, carrying more than 3 lakh passengers daily. Under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, 1374 km of rural roads and 59 bridges have been completed in Odisha in the last 2 years.
Odisha has successfully connected 8541 settlements and achieved the first position in the country in completing the longest length of roads in the financial year 2025-26. Under the Chief Minister’s Gram Sadak Yojana, 10,110 km of rural roads have been completed at a cost of Rs. 7,287 crore. In the field of sports and youth services in the state, the state government has taken a historic decision to set up 6 regional sports hubs, 13 Olympic size swimming pools, an archery academy for tribal areas and a special indoor handball academy in Puri at a cost of Rs 600 crores to realize the vision of podium from the field by constructing stadiums in all 314 blocks of the state. In the industrial sector, the High Level Clearance Authority has approved 89 major projects worth Rs 7,96,638 crores in 9 meetings, which has created the possibility of 3,10,825 jobs. So far, MoUs have been signed with the state government for investment in the industrial sector worth Rs 24 lakh crores. In the last 2 years, pucca houses have been provided to 4 lakh 82 thousand 969 families at a total cost of Rs 3913 crores.
To further strengthen food security, the monthly per capita rice allowance has been doubled from 5 kg to 10 kg. Similarly, in the steel and mining sector, the combined mining revenue from major and minor minerals collected in 2024-25 was Rs. 43,842 crore, which has increased significantly to Rs. 48,553 crore in the financial year 2025-26. In Odisha, our government has succeeded in providing a people-oriented administration after a long gap. This government of the people is directly involved in the joys and sorrows of the common man and is solving public problems through genocide.
In both the technical and general education sectors, our government has taken the lead in improving the welfare of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and has started a new phase in the establishment of social justice by providing new welfare to the students of backward classes. Similarly, fulfilling the promise of our election manifesto, the government has also set a sensitive example by providing a monthly allowance of Rs. 3500 to the disabled above 80 years of age and above 80 percent. Today’s executive committee thanked the state government for all these welfare measures of the Odisha government.
The two-day extended state executive meeting held in Cuttack showcased the diversity of Odia, language, culture and identity. The executive meeting venue has displayed photographs and stories of Odisha’s revolutionaries, freedom fighters, sons of Bara and poets. Similarly, detailed information about the developmental and welfare schemes of the central and state governments has also been displayed. Important political agendas will be presented and passed on the second day tomorrow.
