BHUBAANESWAR:The BJP government has made great efforts with the support of the general public to organize and regulate the Rath Yatra. The number of visitors to the Rath Yatra has increased unexpectedly every year. In that context, we are shocked to see some unusual incidents. The government is aware of this and is working to ensure that no more accidents occur in the future. The government expresses grief over the deaths and is investigating the circumstances under which such accidents occurred, the cause and the cause of the accident. The autopsy report is awaited and every matter will be investigated after clarity about the accident. But the Biju Janata Dal is playing very despicable and base politics over the Rath Yatra of Jagannath, said BJP State General Secretary Shri Binarichi Narayan Tripathi.

Shri Tripathi said that BJD has no moral right to say anything about the Rath Yatra or the inquiry commission. BJD is the party that made every effort to stop the Rath Yatra during the Covid period. But due to the intervention of the BJP government at the Centre and the Hon’ble Court, the historic Rath Yatra of Mahaprabhu was not stopped at that time, but the Rath Yatra was completed. Biju Janata Dal had set up twenty-four commissions to investigate various accidents and matters during the last 24 years of its rule. But it is sad and regrettable that the report of not a single commission was presented in the Assembly or made public, nor was any action taken against anyone based on the recommendations of the commission.
In 1993, when Biju Patnaik’s Janata Dal government was in power, six devotees lost their lives in a stampede during the Nargajun Vesha of Jagannath. The report of the inquiry commission formed to investigate this accident was discarded. To investigate the loss of the report, Justice P.K. Mohanty Commission was formed in 2006. But the people of Odisha did not know the report of the said commission either. Therefore, in the name of commission investigation, the BJD should stop doing such drama and hateful politics, said Shri Tripathi.
