BHUBANESWAR:Minister for Sports and Industry, Government of Bihar, Shreyasi Singh is on a four-day visit to Odisha from July 30 to August 2, 2026. The main objective of this four-day visit is to gain an insight into the proposed ‘Sports City’ and modern sports infrastructure to be built in Bihar. The visit has been organized to learn about Odisha’s world-class sports system, management of High-Performance Centers (HPC), Public-Private Partnership (PPP) and use of sports science.
Commonwealth Games gold medalist and Arjuna Awardee Ms. Singh, along with senior officials like Sports Director Mr. Arif Ahsan and BSSA Deputy Director Mr. Himanshu Singh, visited various sports projects in Bhubaneswar.
During her visit to the Kalinga Stadium premises, Minister Shreyasi Singh visited and reviewed the Shooting High-Performance Centre, Gymnastics High-Performance Centre, Aquatic Centre (Swimming), Badminton High-Performance Centre, Hockey High-Performance Centre, Sports Science Centre, Indoor Athletics Centre, Weightlifting High-Performance Centre, AIFF-FIFA Talent Academy at the Kalinga Hockey Stadium.
Reiterating the commitment to cooperation between the two states, the Hon’ble Minister held detailed discussions with senior officials of the Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Government of Odisha. The meeting focused on player development, administrative work style, scouting new talent and strategies for organizing major competitions.
During this discussion and visit, the Commissioner-General and Secretary of the Odisha Sports and Youth Services Department, Shri Bhupendra Singh Punia, Director of Sports, Dr. Yedulla Vijay, and other key officials of the department were present and provided complete information.
This will be followed by a visit to the Kho-Kho High-Performance Center and Sports Hostel in Puri, which will further strengthen the exchange of sports knowledge between the two states.
On this occasion, the Honorable Sports Minister of Bihar said that “Odisha’s sports system and player-centric environment are an example for the entire country. The working style here and the experience gained from world-class high-performance centers will be of great help in building new sports projects and infrastructure in Bihar.”
