Big step towards making India the hub of global knowledge – Dharmendra Pradhan

BHUBANESWAR:A historic achievement has been achieved towards internationalization of Indian education system under the National Education Policy. Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan has formally handed over the ‘Letter of Approval’ to three leading higher education institutions of the world namely University of York, University of Bristol, UK and University of New South Wales, Australia to start their programs in India.

Realizing the vision of the National Education Policy, guided by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India is today attracting the world’s leading universities. This global partnership will give a new direction to our next generation of researchers, educators and innovators. With the integration of these three prestigious international universities with the Indian education system, Indian students can receive world-class education within the country.

These institutions will forge strong partnerships with India’s education and industry through their scientific research, interdisciplinary education and academic expertise. This initiative will help establish India as a leading knowledge, education and innovation hub in the world. The Union Minister said that the Ministry of Education welcomes all these global partnerships and is committed to further enriching the quality of education in India.

The event was attended by British High Commissioner Lindy Cameron, senior officials from the respective universities, representatives from the Australian and British High Commissions, and senior officials from the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
