These two decisions of the Cabinet are truly commendable for taking the state’s development trajectory to a new height:
1. ‘Jnanoday-Shiksharu Samrudhi’ scheme (KG to PG free education)
It is a revolutionary step to provide completely free education from KG (Kindergarten) to PG (Post Graduate) in all government and aided educational institutions, freeing about 31 lakh students of the state from financial burden. Along with this, the provision of mid-day meal for class IX and X students will help in increasing the performance and nutrition of the students.
2. 10-year mission for Blue Economy
To promote deep sea fisheries with an outlay of ₹2,295 crore, it is a visionary decision to boost the economic growth of Odisha’s 480 km long coastline and the prosperity of its fishing brothers and sisters. This will create thousands of new jobs in the coastal areas.
“These far-reaching decisions will further strengthen the resolve to build a ‘Developed Odisha’ by harnessing our human and natural resources.”
