BHUBANESWAR:Today i.e on 19.09.2026, a short while ago, Smt B.Uma Patro, ICDS Supervisor and Narasingha Behera, Jr. Revenue Assistant ( JRA), both of o/o CDPO, Hinjilikatu, Ganjam have been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demanding and taking a bribe of Rs.30,000/- from an Anganwadi Worker in lieu of release of the house rent of the Anganwadi Centre for last 11 months*.
Smt.Patro and Sri Behera told the Anganwadi Worker that if the demanded bribe Rs 30,000/- was not paid to them, they would block the release of house rent of the said Anganwadi Centre for coming months. Finding no other means, Anganwadi Worker ( Complainant) reported the matter to vigilance authorities. Upon receiving the information, today, a team of Odisha Vigilance nabbed both Smt Patro, Supervisor and Sri Behera, JRA while taking a bribe of Rs.30,000/- from the complt. inside the office premises of CDPO. *The entire tainted bribe money Rs.30,000/- has been recovered from them and seized*.
