BHUBANESWAR: An important meeting of the State Crisis Management Group was held today under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Smt. Anu Garg regarding the status and future preparations of the state regarding the supply of fuel like cooking gas, petrol and diesel. The Chief Secretary discussed in detail the continuous monitoring and review of the situation of cooking gas, petrol and diesel and the future steps to be taken in view of the current situation.

The meeting discussed in detail the current situation of supply of essential fuels like LPG, petrol and diesel. It was emphasized to take precautionary and coordinated steps in the current situation as per the instructions of the Central Government. The meeting emphasized to increase the use of Piped Natural Gas (PNG).
It was pointed out that the rate of commercial cooking gas supply to hotels and restaurants has increased. It was discussed that hotels and commercial establishments should follow the PNG usage in large quantities. Hotels which have both PNG and LPG facilities are advised to use PNG in full.
The Food Supply Department and Consumer Welfare Department have said that there is no problem in the supply of LPG to domestic consumers. The state government’s priority areas include the supply of fuel to various institutions and the MSME sector. Discussions were held on the promotion of EV vehicles to reduce dependence on petrol and diesel and to accelerate infrastructure development in the state.
