BHUBANESWAR:The Institute of Agricultural Sciences (IAS), a university-run institute of education and research (SOA), celebrated the holy agricultural festival of Odisha, ‘Akshaya Vrith’. Akshaya Vrith was celebrated in phases at INS Farm under SOA in Nuagaon and ARS Farm in Binjhagiri.
On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor of Soa University, Professor Prashant Kumar Patra, Dean of Krishi Vigyan College, Professor Santosh Kumar Raut, Agriculture Research Coordinator, Professor J.M.L. Gulati, Head of the Department of Field Science, Professor Basudev Behera, Examination Coordinator, Professor Rabindra Paikara, Head of the Department of Floriculture and Beautification, Professor Shashikala Beura, Professor of the Department of Plant Physiology, Dr. Nandita Jena, participated prominently and offered Akshi Muthi as per the traditional rituals. All the research scholars of the College of Agriculture, farm staff and local farmers of Binjhagiri participated in the ceremony. The ceremony was conducted by the Farm Directors, Professor Saroj Kumar Mohanty and Professor Madhusudan Behera.
