BHUBANESWAR:A preparatory meeting has been held by the Information and Public Relations Department in the context of the 80th state Independence Day celebrations this year. This year, the Hon’ble Chief Minister will formally hoist the flag at Mahatma Gandhi Marg at 9 am.
The meeting was chaired by Additional Chief Secretary Shri Hemant Sharma and was attended by officers including Director Shri Anuj Kumar Das Patnaik.
The meeting discussed in detail the arrangements for the parade and flag hoisting by the Information and Public Relations Department, the morning prayer service with the help of a post machine, live broadcast of the Independence Day celebrations on TV and social media, information provision to the media, decoration of the venue, and the display of photographs of the grooms.
The road from Lok Bhawan to the festival venue will be beautified. The Chief Minister will felicitate the best contingents and parades in the state-level parade to be held on Republic Day-2026 with awards.
On the occasion of this Independence Day, various buildings of the Central and State Governments, government enterprises and prominent buildings will be illuminated. The Bhubaneswar Metropolitan Corporation will make arrangements for sanitization of the festival venue and provision of drinking water. Similarly, the Commissionerate Police will handle the security arrangements and traffic control.
