BHUBANESWAR:Today is the death anniversary of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, the source of inspiration, guide and founder of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh. It is celebrated as a day of sacrifice all over the country. Late Mukherjee had reached the top in a very short time by performing his work efficiently.
He did not tolerate the arbitrary rule of the Congress. Even after becoming a minister after the country’s independence, he was never greedy for power. When Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was ruling the country arbitrarily, late Mukherjee argued with him in Parliament and resigned from Nehru’s ministry and sacrificed his power. He dedicated his life to the service of the countrymen. For late Mukherjee, the country was supreme. State President and Rajya Sabha MP Shri Manmohan Samal said at the 74th death anniversary program of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee at the state office that the unity, integrity and sovereignty of the country have been preserved due to his strength and self-confidence.
Shri Samal said that late Mukherjee was a prominent politician and a visionary figure. He did not compromise with the forces dividing West Bengal and Jammu and Kashmir. He opposed Article 370 in the Constitution and said, “Ek Desh Me Do Bidhan, Do Pradhan Aur Do Nishan Nahin Chalenge” and gave the call for “Kashmir Chalo” without a permit. His sacrifice day is a day of remembrance and commitment for all of us. He changed the course of the country’s politics. This organization started from his sacrifice. The Bharatiya Jana Sangh, founded in 1951, has later become a huge political party like BJP. Today, BJP-led coalitions are in power in 22 states of the country.
It has created its own unique identity as the largest political party in the world. Keeping in mind the ideology of late Mukherjee, the party has reached this place today with the power of devotion, penance and self-confidence. The ideology of the party is respected and accepted everywhere today. After the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35 (A) by the late Prime Minister on August 5, 2019, the state of Kashmir has become an integral part of India. As a result, the dream of late Mukherjee has been fulfilled.
