BHUBANESWAR:The 47th meeting of the State Cabinet was held today at Lok Seva Bhavan under the chairmanship of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi. In this meeting, a total of 18 proposals from 12 departments for the development and welfare of the state were discussed and approved.
Major approved proposals:
‘Shri Jagannath Temple Land Management Rules, 2026’ enacted for the clean management, digital management and regulation of Shri Jagannath Temple land.
Reorganization of Odisha Agriculture Service Cadre, Odisha Soil Conservation Service Cadre.
With the restructuring of the Horticulture Service cadre, the total number of posts has increased from 403 to 470.
Approval of ‘Odisha Public Trust Bill, 2026’ with amendments to 16 laws.
Pension Rules, amended in 1992.
Odisha Civil Service Rules, 2026 enacted for the recruitment, promotion and service conditions of the civil servants of District Industrial Centres (DIC).
‘BOITA’ scheme approved for preservation of historic irrigation projects and development of tourism facilities.
A plan to install 1.5 lakh deep tubewells in 5 years to create irrigation capacity of 7.5 lakh hectares in 256 blocks of 26 districts.
Revised ‘BASUDHA’ scheme for the period 2026-27 to 2028-29 to provide safe drinking water to deprived rural settlements.
Widening and improvement of Komtalpeta-Muniguda-Tumudibandh (SH-5), Bhawanipatna-Muniguda (SH-6) and Rayagada-Kereda (MDR-48B) roads (total 4 projects).
‘Panchasakha Shikshan Setu Yojana’ has been approved for the period from 20 December 2024 to 31 March 2029 (2024-25 to 2028-29).
The preparation of ‘Odisha Uniformed Services Staff Selection Commission (Amendment) Rules, 2026’ for conducting the Combined Recruitment Examination (CRE) in the Uniformed Services has been approved.
Strengthening and modernizing the entire power transmission infrastructure, including the installation of a 765 kV network for the first time in the state.
