BHUBANESWAR: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday called upon them to follow the 5T principles while attending the Nijukti Parba of 441 Junior engineers (Civil) who joined State Water Resources Department.
CM Patnaik said that with this initiative in place, several major irrigation projects have been accelerated with application of modern technology. CM expected all the new engineers to keep themselves updated in new technologies and bring innovative solutions to challenging issues
CM Patnaik advised the new recruits to serve the people with utmost transparency, sincerity and commitment, adding that every action has a direct impact on the lives of people so they must be sensitive to the needs and aspirations of people, and do their best to serve them. CM added that water resources is a critical wing of #Odisha Govt that looks into a multitude of development works making a significant impact on people from all sections of society.
Speaking on various projects of the Department, CM mentioned that Odisha has more than 4000 dams and several others are under construction. The State Government has taken up construction of 30 in-stream storage structures in the 1st phase and another 41 will be constructed in 2nd & 3rd phase. CM Patnaik said that these projects will help in water conservation, rural water supply and help improve the ground water level which is emerging as a critical environmental issue everywhere.
