RANCHI/HATIA/BHUBANESWAR:  Ranchi is feeling proud for the successful event of the three-day 2nd Sanskriti National Dance Festival and Seminar 2023 from 2nd June to 4th June 2023. The event was organized by Sanskriti, Ranchi and was held in NIAMT Hatia auditorium . It was a great effort to promote the excellent dance form.

The seminar was of three days duration and was attended by dance gurus and exponents of institutional and national level. The program was inaugurated on 2nd June where Prof. Dr. Prathim Partha Chattopadhyay as chief guest, Ms Meenakshi Behera, Prof Dr Manoj Kumar Behera and Gurushree Tirthananda Das as guests of honour were present. The program was inaugurated by lighting the lamp After that, artists from different states of the country enthralled the audience with their dance skills. Dr Amit Sakhre and Dr Sangeeta Thakur presented a beautiful Kathak dance followed by a very beautiful Bharatanatyam dance by Mr. Gyanendra Dutt Bajpai (Bharatnatyam Lecturer, Bhatkhande Sanskrit University, Lucknow).

After this, many more classical dance performances took place. On the second day of the 2nd Sanskriti National Dance Festival and Seminar 2023, on June 3rd, 2023, at 10 am, the seminar was inaugurated where Prof. Dr. Suresh Prasad Singh ji as the chief guest. and Padma Shri Mukund Nayak ji were present as special guests.

The topic of the seminar was ‘Various challenges and opportunities created with the changes of Indian classical dance tradition’ Prof. Dr. Manoj Kumar Behera was present as the moderator of the seminar.  Meenakshi Behera (Odissi, Bhubaneshwar), Gurushri Tirthanand Das (Odissi, Cuttack), Dr Amit Sakhare (HOD, Faculty of Dance, Mata Jija Bai PG Mahavidyalaya, Indore), Prof Dr Nanda Ghosh (Retd), Manipuri, Ranchi) ), Dr Sangeeta Thakur (Kathak, Madhya Pradesh), Mr Gyanendra Dutt Bajpai (Bharatnatyam Lecturer, Bhatkhande Sanskrit University, Lucknow), Sheetal Oraon (Kathak, I.K.S.V. Khairagarh), Sachin Kumhare (Kathak, IK SV. Khairagarh), Pushpa Kumari (Kathak, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Performing Arts, Ramshobha College of Education, Ranchi), Ramani Ranjan Panigrahi (Ranchi) expressed their views in the seminar. Young generation showed their participation in this seminar with great enthusiasm. A total of more than 50 people exchanged their views in the seminar

The main objective of this symposium was to provide a platform to dance theatre, to inform about the opportunities and challenges coming in the field of dance art and to encourage new participants. Prominent personalities and dance lovers of the city participated in the inaugural function of the Seminar. The event was a great effort to promote the cultural life of the city as well as bring the national dance family together.

The dance artists present in this seminar enthralled the audience with their excellent artistry and talent. Apart from various dance performances, a two-day seminar was organized in the three-day festival. In this seminar, experienced dance gurus delivered lectures on various challenges and opportunities in the field of dance and discussed issues related to dance.The book launch of Kathak Nibandhavlokan authored by Dr. Amit Sakhare (HOD, Faculty of Dance, Mata Jijabai PG Mahavidyalaya, Indore) and Dr. Sangeeta Thakur was also released during this seminar.

In the evening session, Dr. P.C. Mishra as chief guest, Nritya Praveen Sabita Mishra and Mrs.Punita Rai as special guests were present. Artists from different states of the country performed excellent dance. Artists from Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha, Maharashtra, Bangladesh, Rajasthan, and Karnataka had come to perform dance in the program.

Sanskriti organisation felicitated artists from all over the country. Sanskriti Bal Kala Samman, Sanskriti Yuva Kala Samman, Sanskriti Samman, Sanatan Sanskriti Samman, Sanatan Kala Sanskriti Samman, Sanskriti jatiya Samman were the several types of awards. Sanskriti Yuva Kala Samman for youth, Sanskriti Samman for experts, Sanatan Sanskriti Samman was given for Gurus and Sanskriti jatiya Samman for significant contribution in the field of art and culture. More than 200 people from all over the country came for this three day dance festival and seminar.

Mr. Amitabh Mukherjee was present as the chief guest in the morning session on the last day of the program on 4th June , 2023. On the second day of the seminar, the seminar moderator Prof. Dr. Manoj Kumar Behera concluded the seminar keeping his views after listening to the views of all the experts.

Mr. Pankaj Kumar was present as a guest in the afternoon session before whom artists of different age groups presented dance. Closing ceremony was held on 4th June 2023 where as Mr. Gyan Shankar ji (President, Akhil Bharatiya Vaishya Mahasammelan) as chief guest gave his invaluable time, Mr. Hemant Das ji, Mr. Arvind Gupta ji were present as special guests. Mr. Gyan Shankar ji showed his invaluable participation in the program and expressed his views to the people present in the auditorium where he told about the importance of Indian culture, civilization and art. Odissi, Kathak, Bharatnatyam, Kuchipudi, Manipuri, and folk dances were performed in the program  by dance gurus and exponents. The scintillating dance performances enthralled each and every audience.

Pushpa Kumari Sanskriti Ranchi coordinator said that Sanskriti National Dance Festival and Seminar was firstly organized in Ranchi in 2019 by Guru Ashok Kumar Malik. Two day event in 2019 It was held in the auditorium of NIAMT Hatia in which more than 150 people from all over the country had participated. The 2nd Sanskriti National Dance Festival and Seminar 2023 was organized by Sanskriti Ranchi organisation and brought together the prestigious names of dance art. Sanskriti Ranchi family hopes that through this event, “the classical dance tradition will continue to move ahead in the country and the dance ocean full of different dance forms will be exposed forever.”

The hard work, dedication and excellence of the organization members Pushpa Kumari, Shri Rudra Narayan Bhanjdev, Dr. Ratnakar Das, Dr. Asit Kumar Mohapatra, Dr. Sambit Parida, Dr. Jaya Swarup Mohanty is behind the success of this event.
