Miscreants loot gold worth Rs 4 lakh from Mangala temple in Cuttack

Cuttack: A gang of unidentified miscreants robbed gold and silver ornaments worth above Rs 4 lakh from Mangala temple at Jhanjirimangala Square in Cuttack district on Sunday.

According to reports, the burglars broke the temple doors late on Sunday night and then decamped with the valuable ornaments.

The incident came to light on Monday morning when the priest came to open the temple.

“When I came to open the temple at around 5 am today to offer puja, I spotted the main doors were broken and gold ornaments worth around Rs 4 to 5 lakh was missing, said Abhimanyu Rana, temple priest.

Following this, an FIR was lodged and police have launched investigation to nab the culprits.
