BHUBANESWAR: Today, 11.5, the 105th birth anniversary of the great freedom fighter Padma Shri Bhavani Charan Patnaik was celebrated as Inspiration Day at the Buddha Temple complex in Bhubaneswar. The chief speaker on the occasion, renowned Gandhian columnist Shri Prahlad Singh, said in his memorial speech that Bhavani Babu’s life was a unique example of service and goodwill.
Every act of his life was a clear expression of non-violence. He called upon the youth to lead a life of service as the responsibility of independent India. Former Minister Shri Sameer Ranjan Dash, former Chairman of Odisha Khadi Board Shri Prasad Keshari Paikara, senior lawyer Sudhir Mohanty, former Women and Child Development Department Advisor Smt. Sumitra Jena, National Youth Project State Coordinator Shri Madhusudan Das, ASHAYE Organization Chairman Ratnakar Sahu, Bhavani Patnaik’s daughter Smt. Sanjukta Mohanty and granddaughter Ms. Devika Patnaik etc. attended the event as guests of honor and called upon the youth to be inspired by his ideals.
Under the leadership of Shri Som, a discussion was organized on “Youth Society and Inspiration” for the young talents present at the event in building a nation with peace and harmony, in which the youth presented their views and promised to keep the trend of inspiration strong.
The guests were welcomed by Dr., Managing Trustee of Bhavani Patnaik Foundation. While the Chief Guest welcomed the gathering, Trustees Shri Bikram Keshari Nayak and Shri Har Prasad Mohapatra conducted the main program. Workers of Ruchika Samaj Mangala Organization, Ashayan, National Youth Project, Jeevan Jyoti Ashram, Shri Shri Maa Anand Ashram, Ahimsa Adhikari Foundation, Shobhaniya Shiksharam etc. contributed to the program.
Members of Ahimsa Adhikari Foundation performed Gandhian and patriotic songs which inspired everyone. Around 300 youths participated in the program and promised to follow the footsteps of Bhavani Babu to build the country and students from different parts of Bhubaneswar presented patriotic dance programs.
