BERHAMPUR/BHUBANESWAR: On Sunday, Golanthara Police were performing Naka and checking duty just in front of police station. At that time, one vehicle was found moving suspiciously and hence it was detained. Upon searching the vehicle, some secrete chambers were found.
‘Within the secret chamber behind back seat, huge quantity of gold and silver were found. Upon further verification, it was found to be 4.664 kg Gold and 185.5 kg silver,” Berhampur SP said in a statement.
SP said, preliminary investigation showed that the Karnataka registered Car was coming from Tamil Nadu and the Gold and silver were for delivery in Berhampur. Total market value of the seized articles is around Rs 3.10 Crore , SP said adding further investigation underway.
