BHUBANESWAR: On Thursday, short while ago, Sri Girija Shankar Das, Section Officer, O/o Commissioner of Food Safety, Bhubaneswar has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and accepting bribe Rs.10,000/-(Ten Thousand) from a Complainant to process his file for change of the name of Pharmacist of his medicine store. He assured the complt to get it done by influencing a staff of Drugs Controller, Bhubaneswar where he (Sri Das) was posted earlier.
The entire bribe money has been recovered from the possession of the accd. Sri Das and seized.Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at 2 locations of Sri Das from DA angle.
In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance PS Case No. 12/23 U/s 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against accused Sri Das, Section Officer. Detailed report follows.
