BHUBANESWAR: On Sunday, , short while ago, Golaka Bihari Podha, Junior Assistant, Sub- Divisional Veterinary Office, Biramaharajpur in Subarnpur has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and accepting bribe Rs.15,000/- (Rupees Fifteen thousand) from a Complainant(Live Stock Inspector) for processing and drawl of his pending salary.
Initially, Sri Podha took Rs 20,000/- bribe but did not release the salary and demanded Rs 15,000/- more to do the same. Following this, the complt. approached the Vigilance authorities and an FIR was registered in this matter. Today, Sri Podha was nabbed by the Vigilance team while accepting demanded bribe Rs 15,000/- from complt . The entire bribe money has been recovered from Sri Podha and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Sri Podha from DA angle.
In this connection, Sambalpur Vigilance P.S.Case No.12 dt.20.05.2023 U/s 7 P.C. (Amendment)Act, 2018 has been registered.Investigation is in progress against accused Sri Podha, Jr. Asst. Detailed report follows.
