Use of Heavy Machinery in Heritage Rich Zone is a Crime, alleges BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi

    BHUBANESWAR: BJP Lok Sabha MP from Bhubaneswar and Party’s National Spokesperson, Aparajita Sarangi on Tuesday alleged that use of heavy machinery in Heritage Rich Zone is crime.

    “Using heavy earth moving machinery in heritage rich zone is nothing short of a crime. Posterity is going to seek accountability for such MINDLESS demolition .Glad that @BJP4Odisha has been raising this issue.All my support.@dpradhanbjp@SamirMohantyBJP @Naveen_Odisha@CMO_Odisha,” MP Aparajita Sarangi tweeted @AprajitaSarangi.

    Thanking her Party Colleague and Union PNG-Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradha, who had taken up the issue, in another tweet , MP Sarangi said “Thanks @dpradhanbjp for taking up an issue which is so relevant for OdishaThe rich legacy & heritage of Odisha cannot be allowed to be destroyed thro MINDLESS Development exercise. Devlpt & Heritage Conservation shd go hand in hand. @BJP4Odisha@SamirMohantyBJP@Naveen_Odisha,”

    “Protection of monuments of national, historical & cultural importance is a collective responsibility of all of us. Hon. CM who is a founding member of @INTACHIndia must be aware that all notified monuments are protected under the AMASR Act, 1958 enacted in the Parliament,” Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had tweeted @dpradhanbjp earlier.

    MP  Sarangi had also expressed her agony over the destruction of many heritage monuments in the Ekamra Kshetra. She had visited the Suka-Sari temple complex – where excavation is underway – on the invitation of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) on the day. Sarangi said she came to know that many heritage structures were demolished during the ongoing heritage corridor development.
