By Our Correspondent

BHUBANESWAR:Universities should not be just centers of learning but should be a reflection of human resource development and national resolve, said Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan while participating in various programs at Chanakya University in Bengaluru today.

During this visit, Shri Pradhan inaugurated the ‘Sudha and Kris Gopalakrishnan Academic Block’, ‘Dr. K. Kasturirangan Auditorium’ and ‘Satellite Ground Station’ in the presence of former ISRO Chairman and University Vice-Chancellor Dr. S. Somnath. Shri Pradhan said that the true measure of nation building is often reflected in the institutions that choose to invest in the future generations. Universities should not be mere centres of learning; they should emerge as a place where national aspirations are transformed into human potential and where the minds of the youth are prepared to lead with knowledge and character.

He further said, Bengaluru today stands as India’s ‘proof of concept’, with institutions like ISRO, IISc Bengaluru, DRDO and a thriving startup ecosystem. Similarly, the path of national progress will be determined not only by economic growth, but also by the quality of the mindset we build. When universities inspire both excellence and purpose, they help create a capable generation to take India forward with confidence, innovation and a sense of national responsibility, the Education Minister said.

On this occasion, Shri Pradhan visited the ‘Makkala Dham’ campus of the Sankara Trust at Bettakote. Similarly, on the occasion of the holy Narasimha Jayanti, Shri Pradhan visited the historic Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple at Malleswaram and prayed for the prosperity of the country.
