BARIPADA: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who is on a day-long visit to Mayurbhanj district, on Monday reviewed the implementation of the National Education Policy and the progress of various government schemes being implemented in the district along with the district administration officers at Shaheed Smriti Bhawan in Baripada.
The meeting discussed the proper nutrition of newborns along with their good health, education and skill development. On this occasion, a report was presented by the district administration on the implementation of the National Education Policy. After the meeting, Shri Pradhan responded to the media and said that the contribution of Mayurbhanj district in advancing the education of Odisha is unparalleled.
There are many quality educational institutions in Mayurbhanj. Without the development of this district, the dream of ‘Developed Odisha’ and ‘Developed India’ cannot be realized. The meeting discussed how to provide quality education, improve skills and maintain good health to newborns from the time they study in class 12. As per the advice of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary National Education Policy, it is necessary to increase the capacity building of students and teachers. He expressed his opinion that plans will be made to increase the literacy rate and improve the quality of education from school to higher education.
Odisha’s Minister for School and Public Education Nityanand Gand, Minister for Housing and Urban Development Krishna Chandra Mohapatra, Lok Sabha MP Naba Charan Majhi, Rajya Sabha MP Mamata Mahanta, all MLAs of Mayurbhanj district, along with government officials and employees from all departments of the district, were present in this review meeting.
It is to be noted that during his visit to Baripada in Mayurbhanj district, Shri Pradhan inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various projects. He was welcomed at many places while inaugurating the administrative building of ‘Mayurbhanj Athletic Association’ in Baripada, the Baripada Chhau Pendal Project and the Jubilee Park and Jhinjiri Dam renovation projects in Baripada.
