BHUBANESWAR:Puri, Ujjain and Kashi are major centres of Indian knowledge tradition, where a unique combination of science and spirituality can be seen, said Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan while participating in various important programs in Ujjain (Avantika), the holy city of Baba Mahakala, today.

During this visit, Shri Pradhan along with Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and RSS All India Working Committee Member Shri Suresh Soni inaugurated the ‘Mahakal: The Master of Time’ International Conference. On this occasion, Shri Pradhan launched the website and booklet of ‘Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan 2026-27’. He said that Ujjain is not just a place, but it is a major center of time calculation.

The ongoing efforts to establish Ujjain again as the ‘Global Meridian’ or the standard of determining world time will connect our ancient science with the modern era. On the other hand, through the National Education Policy – 2020, India is today coming out of the traditional education mentality of T.B. Macaulay and connecting with its original knowledge and language. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is moving towards building a proud and developed nation.

On this occasion, Shri Pradhan dedicated a ‘Ujjain Science Centre’ with the aim of increasing scientific temper among the youth. This science centre will be a great medium to inculcate scientific thinking, new research and interest in learning something new among the youth. He said that this combination of modern science with the spiritual tradition of Ujjain will make the youth wise and cultured. During the visit, Shri Pradhan visited the Shri Angareshwar Mahadev Temple and performed cow service. He described cow service as a living embodiment of the compassion and sensitivity of Indian culture.
