BHUBANESWAR:  In response to the long-standing demand of the residents of Redhakhol town, Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan has written a letter to Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari requesting him to construct a bypass outside Redhakhol town.

Shri Pradhan wrote this letter on the basis of a petition received from a delegation supported by the Bar Association of Redhakhol, Truck Owners Association, Senior Citizens Forum and local journalists. He mentioned that National Highway No. 55 is very busy with hundreds of heavy vehicles plying through the city. The narrow roads of the city are not suitable for this heavy traffic, resulting in terrible traffic jams every day. Since the city is home to government offices, hospitals and educational institutions like Bhimbhoi Degree College, there is heavy crowding during office hours. Due to heavy vehicle traffic, there is an increase in accidents and there is a problem in the movement of students, patients and senior citizens.

Keeping in view the rapid development of Redhakhol town and public safety, Shri Pradhan has requested Union Minister Shri Gadkari to direct the concerned authorities to construct a new bypass. Shri Pradhan expressed the hope that the construction of this bypass will reduce the number of accidents in Redhakhol town and the residents of the town will be free from these problems.
