BHUBANESWAR:The launch of India’s first ‘Integrated Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS)’ Field Laboratory is a welcome development. It is a major step forward in India’s clean energy innovation, said Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan.
Shri Pradhan today inaugurated the lab at IIT Bombay and said that this technology will play a key role in achieving the ‘Panchamrut’ promise of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the goal of ‘Net Zero’ by 2070. As per the National Education Policy, educational institutions are not only about acquiring knowledge but also enhancing the capabilities of the country through innovation and research. Coordination between academia, industry and policy makers is essential to build a ‘Developed India’ by 2047. Shri Pradhan congratulated the startup ‘Urjanovac’ promoted by IIT Bombay and termed it as a reflection of India’s scientific prowess.
Later, the Union Minister addressed the ‘Global Colloquium-2026’ organized on the occasion of the 90th Foundation Day of Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS). He said that social science is not just a subject, but a document for the progress and equality of society. He said that there is a need for a world-class education system like Konsakla for the vast youth of India. Similarly, in the last 12 years, ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ and ‘JAM’ as well as Jan Dhan, Aadhaar and mobile have brought about cleanliness and inclusive development in the governance system. Along with economic progress, social awareness and human sensitivity are the measure of real development. Institutions like TTIS are working as a bridge in this field. Finally, Shri Pradhan congratulated all the participants, teachers and students for a successful deliberation.
