BHUBANESWAR: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today met former Indian cricket captain and great all-rounder Kapil Dev and Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) CEO Amandeep Singh Johal in New Delhi and discussed various issues.
On this occasion, discussions were held on sports-based education, physical fitness, and strengthening the sports tradition. There was a positive discussion on how the new National Education Policy 2020 is including sports as a part of the school curriculum.
In this regard, Shri Pradhan said that sports are not just entertainment, it is an integral part of education and life. Through sports, children can learn qualities like discipline and leadership. In today’s meeting, there was a special discussion on how the National Education Policy promotes holistic development through sports-integrated education. He said that this policy emphasizes on creating a good environment for the all-round development of students.
