PATNA: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has joined a youth gathering in Jharsuguda on the occasion of ‘ Seva Parv-2025 ‘ and laid the foundation stone of projects worth about Rs 60,000 crore for the country including Odisha and inaugurated various development projects. Education, Health , Housing, These projects in the areas of skill development and infrastructure will fulfill the aspirations of the people of Odisha. They will give a new impetus to the socio-economic development of a prosperous Odisha and the country, said Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Shri Pradhan was joining the Prime Minister’s Service Programme organized at Jharsuguda from IIT Patna today through video conferencing. Thanking the Prime Minister for the foundation stone laying and launching of the project, Shri Pradhan said, “Today is an important day for the development path of Odisha and our country. It has been announced to transform Veer Surendra Sai Ayrubigyan and Research Institute, Sambalpur, Burla and Maharaja Krishnachandra Gajapati Veshaj College and Hospital , Berhampur into world-class super specialty hospitals at a cost of Rs. 3,000 crore . This initiative will transform the hospitals into state-of-the-art medical centers and improve healthcare services.”
The Prime Minister has laid the foundation stone for the expansion of eight IITs – Tirupati , Palakkad , Bhilai , Jammu , Dharwad , Jodhpur , Patna and Indore – at an investment of about Rs 11,000 crore. This expansion will create capacity for 10,000 new students in the next four years. Eight state-of-the-art research parks will be set up , which will strengthen India’s innovation ecosystem and give a major boost to research and development.
Apart from this, the foundation stone laying for Semiconductor and ESDM Park at IIT Bhubaneswar is a commendable step. This will increase semiconductor manufacturing in Odisha and lead to massive growth in the ancillary industry in the semiconductor sector and give a big boost to the economy of Odisha. Upgrading of engineering and polytechnic institutions through the Merit scheme at a cost of Rs. 4200 crore in the year 2019 is a commendable step. To drive skill development in Odisha, the Prime Minister has launched a project with the establishment of Global Skill Development Centres at Sambalpur and Berhampur at a cost of Rs. 1979 crore. This scheme will focus on skill development in the sectors of Agritech, Renewable Energy, Retail, Marine and Hospitality, which will make our youth more skilled and create new employment opportunities.
The Rs 273 crore railway flyover between Sambalpur City-Sarla, which was laid under the patronage of the Prime Minister, will ease traffic congestion and facilitate the movement of coal, minerals and industrial goods between Sambalpur and Jharsuguda. The launch of indigenous 4G (5G ready) network by BSNL will further strengthen our telecom sector. Over 2.5 lakh students will benefit from Wi-Fi facilities in 130 higher educational institutions in the state at a cost of Rs 90 crore. Work orders have been distributed to the beneficiaries for the construction of 50,000 houses under the ‘ Antayoday Griha Yojana ‘ . Our government is committed to providing dignified pucca houses to the poor. All the projects laid and launched will strengthen the future of Odisha and make it a ‘ prosperous ‘ state. Shri Pradhan mentioned in the X that it will be very helpful in the formation of ‘Odisha ‘ and ‘ Developed Odisha ‘.
In Digha Assembly constituency of Bihar, he went to Shri Pradhan Mantri Bhawan and participated in a public relations walk and called for adopting Swadeshi.
