BHUBANESWAR:On 28.06.2026, acting on information regarding unauthorized drone flying over the protected premises of Lingaraj Temple, Shree Lingaraj Police Station Case No. 196 dated 28.06.2026 was registered U/s- 223(a), 292 & 299 BNS, r/w- 30(1)(iv) of the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1958.
The case has been registered against Sambit Kumar Kar @ Kalia (35 years), S/o Umakant Kar, At: Plot No. L/1827, Dumuduma Housing Board Colony, Phase-II, Near Durga Mandap, P.S. Khandagiri, Dist. Khordha.
During the course of investigation, the drone used in the commission of the offence and the motorcycle used by the accused have been seized. The accused has been served with a notice under Section 35(3) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).Further investigation into the case is in progress.
