BHUBANESWAR:Two post-graduate students of the Institute of Dental Sciences (IDS), faculty of dental sciences of the SOA Deemed to be University here, have been selected for the prestigious ICMR MDS Thesis Grant for 2026 in recognition of their commitment to academic excellence and research.

Dr. Siddhi Pattnayak and Dr. Sohini Niyogi received the grant for their post-graduate research work which is considered a significant achievement for the students and the institute.The research projects are being carried out under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Ruchi Bhuyan, Dean of IDS, and Dr. Maneesha Das.

SOA’s Founder-President Prof. (Dr.) Manojranjan Nayak congratulated the students on their achievement at a ceremony held on Saturday. SOA Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda was also present on the occasion.

The achievement reflects IDS’s continued emphasis on promoting research, scientific inquiry and innovation in dental sciences. The recognition is expected to encourage the students to pursue impactful research which aims at improved contribution to oral healthcare.

Prof. (Dr.) Nayak and Prof. Nanda also congratulated the mentors of the students and wished them continued success in their pursuit of academic and research excellence. Prof. (Dr.) Bhuyan and Dr. Das were also present during the felicitation.
