Traffic DCP Saumya Mishra seeks Punjab Cadre

    BHUBANESWAR: The 2014 batch IPS officer of Odisha cadre, Saumya Mishra, who hails from Uttar Pradesh, presently DCP Traffic for twin Cities of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack, has sought cadre change and applied to change her cadre from Odisha to Punjab.

    Sources said Traffic DCP Mishra’s Husband, Deepak Pareek, who hails from Rajasthan, is a Punjab cadre IPS officer and posted at Ludhiana now, so the Odisha cadre IPS opted cadre change.

    Sources said Police Commissioner Dr Sudhanshu Sarangi on receiving the request letter, has recommended to DGP for further action. Saumya had married to Deepak  in November 2015 and before joining as Traffic DCP in September this year, she had earlier worked as SP of Sudargarh.

    “Her representation along with marriage registration certificate is forwarded herewith a recommendation for favourable consideration,” said the CP. Schooled in Loreto Convent in Lucknow, the woman IPS officer Mishra did BA & MA in Sociology from LSR & Delhi School of Economics.
