BHUBANESWAR:To keep alive the memory of Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati and to honor his service and sacrifice for the tribal people of Kandhamal, Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi has decided to name the ‘Government Medical College and Hospital, Phulbani’ established in Kandhamal after Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati.

In addition, Chief Minister Shri Majhi has sanctioned Rs 13 crore from the CMSA fund for the development of his ashram, ashram school and Kanyashram in Jaleshpatta. The Chief Minister said that this amount has been allocated to preserve and commemorate the heritage of Swamiji’s ashram.
A hostel with 300 seats for female students will be established at an investment of Rs 5 crore. Swamiji’s heritage site will be preserved at an investment of Rs 3 crore. Along with this, a mega river lift project will be implemented at a cost of Rs 6 million to supply water to Jaleshpatta Ashram, Ashram School and Kanyashram hostel.
In addition, funds have also been provided for construction of toilets, construction of additional buildings for student accommodation, construction of walls, renovation of classrooms, hostel buildings, etc.
