PURI/BHUBANESWAR: ADG Law and Order RK Sharma reviewed the security arrangements for the chariot festival in Puri. A total of 65 platoons of police force will be engaged to ensure full-proof security during the Ratha Jatra on July 12. Also, 31 DSPs and Assistant Commanders and 64 IICs will be deployed in the town.
The Puri town will be divided into 12 zones. Tight security arrangement will be made at the entry points of the town. Shutdown with curfew will be imposed under Section 144 of CrPC in the jurisdiction Puri Town with effective from 8 PM of July 11, 2021 to 8 PM of July 13, 2021.
The work of fixing the “Pitala Saja” parts in the “Dwara Bedha” of three chariots is complete.
