PURI/BHUBANESWAR:Keeping in view the convenience of the pilgrims, the temple administration is now going to build another new devotee residence in Puri after Niladri, Nilachal, Srigundicha and Purushottam devotee residences. In this regard, a detailed discussion was held in the management committee meeting of the temple on Saturday, September 26 and a proposal was made.

Meanwhile, the land behind the Niladri devotee residence in Badadand has been improved and the temple administration has sent a written letter to the state government for providing funds from the Abhada scheme for the construction of the new devotee residence proposed earlier on the said land. There is a proposal to build a modern conference hall (Kalyan Mandap) and a high-quality dispensary on the ground floor of this important project for the use of the servants. It is worth noting that last year, in a meeting held under the chairmanship of the Minister of Public Works, it was decided that this devotee residence would be built on the land of the temple administration near Srimarg, behind the Niladri devotee residence. OBCC will prepare the DPR of this project.

In this regard, in the recently held meeting of the Shrimandir Management Committee, Shri Gajapati Maharaja, the Chief Administrator of Shrimandir, Puri District Magistrate and other committee members discussed the project in detail with OBCC. It has been decided that the newly constructed Bhaktanivas will be named “Patitpavan Bhaktanivas”. In this regard, the Chief Administrator of Shrimandir, Dr. Arbinda Kumar Padhee has written a letter to the Principal Secretary of the Works Department to expedite the preparation and construction of the DPR. The Chief Administrator said that this proposed state-of-the-art Bhaktanivas project will be useful for the pilgrims, devotees and servant groups coming to Puri.
