BHUBANESWAR:In a significant anti-corruption development, Odisha Vigilance has secured the conviction of one Former Section Officer, Allotment Section, Bhubaneswar Development Authority ( BDA), Bhubaneswar (Retired), in a bribery case.
Today i.e. on 14.08.2026, Tarini Charan Das, Former Section Officer, Allotment Section, BDA, Bhubaneswar (Retired), who was charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance in a case U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d)/7 PC Act,1988 *for demanding and taking bribe Rs.5,000/- from an applicant for transfer of ownership of the house*, was convicted by Hon’ble Addl. Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar and *sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 3 years and fine*.
*Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for stoppage of pension of Tarini Charan Das, Former Section Officer, Allotment Section, BDA, Bhubaneswar (Retired) following his conviction*.
