Talchua Marine PS IIC Shreekant Barik Helps Kendrapara Police to secure 2nd Rank in NBWs Execution

BHUBANESWAR/KENDRAPARA: The newly posted Kendrapara SP Sandeep Madkar, has all his praise for IIC of Talchua Marine Police limits under Rajnagar Assembly constituency of the district, Shreekant Barik. Talchua Marine PS IIC Barik executed 23 warrants and deposed off 19 warrants out of total 307 NBWs in the district.

“Special Drive for execution of NBWs was launched in the State from March 7 to 14. I am elated to note that Kendrapara district has secured 2nd position in terms of execution of NBWs by executing 307 NBWs. You have played a stellar role in this tremendous success by executing 23 warrants and deposing off 19 warrants. I put on record my sincere appreciation for your committment and hard work,” Kendrpara SP Sandeep Madkar said in his appreciation letter written to Talchua Marine Police Station, IIC, Shreekant Barik.  

Backed by DGP Abhay’s able leadership,  Odisha Police has launched a Special Drive to arrest persons against whom NBW from a Court is pending. Spl. drive took place from 7th March to 14th March-2021. The main aim of the drive was to bring the absconders who were avoiding trial, to justice and thereby  expedite trials held up for that reason. Special attention was given to cases where NBW was pending for long, especially in GR & ST cases.

During this special drive a total of 3988 warrants have been executed by arresting the wanted persons and producing them before the concerned court. Some of the accused persons arrested  during  this drive have been evading law and absconding for years together. 3395 warrants were in GR and ST cases and remaining 593 in other cases.

All the districts have shown initiative and drive in executing pending NBWs. However, Ganjam district Police has executed 452 NBWs which is highest. It is followed by Kendrapara district Police  who have executed 307 NBWs and Balasore district Police who executed 298 NBWs. These Districts Police Chiefs have been issued appreciation letter by DGP.
