Sriballav – Sunanda Panigrahi Foundation arms girls with Spoken English Skills

The valedictory function of Sunanda Panigrahi Memorial Spoken English classes was organized under the aegis of Sriballav and Sunanda Panigrahi foundation on the 28th of December 2023 at Govt. Women’s College Sambalpur. These ‘free-of-charge’ classes were inaugurated earlier this year on the 17th of August and being held at the Govt. Women’s College in association with the ‘Mo College’ initiative of the Govt. of Odisha

SAMBALPUR/BHUBANESWAR:  The valedictory function of Sunanda Panigrahi Memorial Spoken English classes was organized under the aegis of Sriballav and Sunanda Panigrahi foundation on the 28th of December 2023 at Govt. Women’s College Sambalpur. These ‘free-of-charge’ classes were inaugurated earlier this year on the 17th of August and being held at the Govt. Women’s College in association with the ‘Mo College’ initiative of the Govt. of Odisha.

 Each batch will consists of about 40 students who got training in improving their communicative English skills. These classes aim at equipping students with English speaking skills, enabling them to get better opportunities when they pass out from the college.

IIM Sambalpur Director Prof Mahadeo Jaiswal was the Chief Guest at the function and distributed the course completion certificates to the successful students. This is the first batch of students that benefited from these free classes.

Prof Jaiswal emphasized the importance of spoken English in the corporate world and thanked the trust for organizing such a novel program for the benefit of the students.

Prof Rajashree Baral,  Principal Govt Women’s College Sambalpur in her welcome address said that she was thrilled at the response these classes got from her students. She thanked the foundation for its efforts.

Eminent Journalists Subhash Ch Panigrahi , Siba Sankar Nanda, Prof Kamdeba Sahu Retd Vice Principal GM College Sambalpur (who is also the course director) and other prominent citizens of Sambalpur including lawyers , doctors , educationists attended the function. Mo College Coordinator Jogesh Chandra Bhoi coordinated the program.

Trustees of the trust, prominent Dubai based Non Resident Indians Priyadarshee Panigrahi (Managing Trustee) and Senior Investment Banker Rajarshi Panigrahi were present on the occasion and thanked the successful students along with the teachers for successful completion of the course.

Sriballav and Sunanda Panigrahi trust was formed in the year 2021 in the memory of prominent Odisha leader, Minister and Member of Parliament, Late Sriballav Panigrahi and his educationist wife Smt. Sunanda Panigrahi. Sriballav & Sunanda Panigrahi Foundation seeks to promote values and ideals that were close to the hearts of Sriballav & Sunanda Panigrahi. Among other things, it will aim to promote probity in public life, good governance and try to empower the marginalized and deprived sections of the society, particularly through education.
