SRC Reviews Flood Situation in Odisha

Special Relief Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary Satyabrata Sahu has held a high level meeting in presence senior officers at State Emergency Operation Centre and reviewed the possible flood situation in the State since water level in major rivers are on rise.

BHUBANESWAR: Special Relief Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary Satyabrata Sahu has held a high level meeting in presence senior officers at State Emergency Operation Centre and reviewed the possible flood situation in the State since water level in major rivers are on rise.

SRC has directed to ensure 24×7 patrolling of vulnerable river embankments with  support of local police and DoWR engineers, evacuation of people from low-lying areas as may be required & shifting to safe shelter buildings with light, toilet, water and food arrangements.

2 GPs (Chamundia and Rasanga) cut off from Gania Block, but connected from Daspalla. Water has not entered any village. Field officers monitoring. Water level receding. Road connectivity would be restored after 4-5 hours on further decrease in water level, as per Keonjhar district administration.

The SRC office said, senior engineers of State Water Resources Deployment have been deployed to monitor and oversee flood in Mahanadi River System.

CE Mega lift Bhubaneswar, Chinmoy Ranjan Rout has been asked to camp at Puri to oversee flood in Bhargabi and Daya River System, Arattran Sahoo, ACE, Mega Lift, Bhubaneswar will camp at Kendrapara to oversee and monitor flood in River Luna and River Karandia, Bighnaraj Purohit, ACE, Central Irrigation Circle, would camp at Khurda, Pratik Dixit AEE-C would discharge the duty of AEE Mahanadi Barrage Sub Division Cuttack.

 Shakti P Dash, AEE(C) is now, AEE Balanga Irrigation Sub Division , Balanga, NSK Choudhury (AEE C), is now AEE at Rajua Irrigation Sub Division , Khurda and Tanuj K Rout AEE(C)  has been posted as AEE Sakhigopal Irrigation Sub Division in Puri. All have been asked the respective office with immediate effect.

62 Fire & Emergency Services Teams with boats are deployed to assist district administration for SAR duties. Kendrapara- 10, Cuttack Sadar- 10, Athgarh – 8, Jagatsinghpur- 9, Khurda – 5, Nayagarh- 8 and Puri – 12.

106 Response Teams (ODRAF-13, NDRF-8 and Fire-85 ) deployed in 16 districts to assist district administration in SAR activities.
