PURI:The Shree Lord Jagannath Temple, administration is making special arrangements at the north gate for the easy darshan of the differently abled and elderly devotees. The construction of ramps and railings from the north gate of the temple to the Kurma Bedha has been completed. In addition, specially trained volunteers will be engaged in this work to help the differently abled and elderly devotees. The volunteers will help the devotees reach the Natamandap or Jagmohan.

To get this facility, the temple administration is preparing an online and mobile application, informed the Chief Administrator of the temple, Dr. Arabind Kumar Padhee. In the initial trial phase, 50 differently abled and elderly devotees will be able to get this facility daily through the online and mobile application. For this, it has been discussed in a meeting chaired by the Honorable Governor of Odisha that Indian Red Cross Society and St. John Ambulance volunteers can be deployed for the work. Therefore, the Chief Administrator of Shrimandi has informed the Puri District Collector and District Red Cross Society President through a written letter to provide the required trained volunteers.

The Chief Administrator said that ensuring that all devotees and devotees can have darshan of the Chaturdha Vigraha safely is the priority of the temple administration.
Similarly, on Wednesday, September 30, at an auspicious time, the Srigundicha temple has been opened for the public. For the convenience of the devotees and for an orderly darshan, all kinds of ancillary arrangements have been made by the temple administration, district administration and police administration in the Srigundicha temple premises. There, too, free darshan for the disabled and elderly devotees, along with wheelchairs, volunteers and ramps at the Natamandap, have been ensured.
