SJTA Managing Committee Approves Budget worth Rs 190 Crore, says Chief Administrator

BHUBANESWAR/PURI: The Managing Committee of the Shree Jagannatha Temple Administration in Puri in Odisha, which met under the chairmanship of Gajapati Maharaj Dibya Singh Deb, has approved a budget worth Rs 190 Crore for the financial year 2021-22, informed SJTA Chief Administrator, Dr Krishan Kumar after the meeting.

Of the Rs 190 Crore of which SJTA’s own revenue will be around Rs 106 Crore. More than Rs 37 Crore interest will be coming from various corpus and other funds of Temple Administration. Corpus fund which is now at Rs 675 Crore , will reach at Rs 750 Crore with addition of Rs 70 Crore more, Dr Kumar said.

Revenue Expenditure is about Rs 85.40  Crore reported while Revenue surplus around Rs 21 Crore will be deposited in Temple funds. Dr Kumar also said that talks will be held with Cashew Development Corporation Limited over 600 acres of land, leased out it, for enhancing of royalty.  

He also said cluster environmental clearance for stone quarries in Tapang and Khordha areas, which are owned by the Shree Jagannatha Temple, have been received. Individual environmental clearance for stone quarries is expected before March 2022.

The temple administration will receive Rs 60 crore from land acquisition by district administrations. An agreement will be signed between Apollo Hospitals and the temple administration to provide medical care to sevaks and SJTA officials at discounted rates.
