Section 144 clamped at Mining Giant B Prabhakaran’s Illegal Construction in City

    BHUBANESWAR: The Bhubaneswar Tahasildar has ordered to impose section of 144 of CrPC at an illegal construction allegedly carried out by mining contractor B Prabhakaran under Airfield Police limits of State Capital.

    The Bhubaneswar Tahasildar in  a letter dated 28-01-22 to Executive Officer of Lord Lingaraj Temple mentioned about prohibition of unauthorised construction over deity’s land in Bhimpur Mouza nearby Biju Patnaik International Airport pertaining to Khata no-1935 plot -67 area , AC-1.150 decimals.

    Video footage shown, in which, even Thriveni Earth Movers Pvt Ld Prabhakaran’s officials were seen asking local Revenue Inspector to show her identity during the official’s visit to inspect illegal construction activities. Documents were prepared and purchase  also done within a week.

    “I am to say that , the land is question being the deity’s property and wrongly recorded in favour of a private person, revision cases bearing nos, 520/2020,521/2020 and 522/2020, have been filed before Board of Revenue. The land being the property of Lord Lingaraj Trust Board in Sabik ROR as held by DLRS Cuttack, the land has been restored in the meanwhile in its pre-recording position and the subsequent mutation patta has been cancelled,” the letter said.

    It further added “ Instances have been come to the undersigned that some construction work is going on over this land despite sub-judice in revisional court, besides, instructions are being received to stop the construction from higher authority,”.

    Local RI visited the spot with Temple staff but it has been found reported by RI, no Temple staffs were present on the spot. RI though stopped ongoing work for somewhat but latter the same remains unabated despite warning, Tahasildar said. After discussion with ACP Zone-ii , it has been decided to file 144 CrPC to obtain prohibitory order to stop construction work as there is every possibility of law and order, it added.

    Sources said, around 2 acres of land belongs to Lord Lingaraj on Khata No-544/286 , plot no 85,2/2573 and which value would be around Rs 50 Crore but mines owner family relative purchased it mysteriously at around 7 Crores.
