CUTTACK:In pursuance of the call of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for a Nasha Mukt Bharat and under the leadership of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan is being carried forward across Odisha under the direction of DGP, Odisha.
As part of the campaign, Dr. Satyajit Naik, IPS, IGP, Central Range, Cuttack, today participated in an awareness programme organised at Government schools in Jagatsinghpur district. He was accompanied by Shri J. Sonal, IAS, Collector, Jagatsinghpur, and Shri Ankit Verma, IPS, SP, Jagatsinghpur, along with other senior officials.
The programme focused on creating awareness among students about the harmful effects of drugs and substance abuse and motivating them to adopt a healthy, disciplined and drug-free lifestyle. The officers interacted with students and highlighted the important role of young people in building a healthier and safer society.
Under the Central Range, the campaign has witnessed participation from around 300 Government schools across seven districts, thereby creating a strong network of awareness among students, teachers and communities.
Speaking on the occasion, the participating officials emphasised that prevention, awareness and community participation are key to combating the menace of drug abuse. Students were encouraged to stay away from drugs, inspire their peers and contribute towards creating a Nasha-Mukt Odisha.
The Central Range Police reiterated its commitment to strengthening anti-drug awareness, preventive policing and community engagement, particularly among the youth, to ensure a safer and healthier future for the next generation.
